We arrived to Piazza Armerina (Provincia di Enna) on the 11th day evening and were planning to see Villa Romana del Casale (Roman Villa) next early morning to avoid crowds.
We woke-up with an amazing view to town! I really recommend staying at La Casa sulla Collina d’Oro.
First we went for the breakfast and I must say I was impressed with the decoration and the food at this apartment!

And even more impressive views from the terrace!

Villa Romana del Casale – Roman Villa ruins
Finally we arrived to Roman Villa museum.
Villa Romana del Casale is an ancient Roman villa located in the town of Piazza Armerina, in the province of Enna, Sicily, Italy. The villa was constructed in the 4th century AD, during the reign of Roman Emperor Constantine the Great, and was in use until the 5th century AD. It is renowned for its extensive and well-preserved mosaics, which cover almost 3500 square meters and depict a variety of scenes including hunting, chariot races, and everyday life. The villa was rediscovered in the late 19th century, and excavations began in the early 20th century. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997. It is now one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sicily, and is one of the best preserved Roman villas in the world.

After Villa museum we were heading to Agrigento.

We stopped for a quick lunch. The food was really delicious!

Next on our list was to visit abandoned Customs House (ex Caserma della Guardia di Finanza) as well as Valley of Temples!
