Today, I am flying off on a Trip to Thailand for almost a month. I am going on my own! After many years of thinking and dreaming of going there, I am finally doing it! All my friends already visited it a long time ago, so I thought it is time for me to visit too. I booked my flight tickets last minute as well as accommodations and train tickets (just two days before going). Now on my way to Heathrow airport and enjoy the lounge before boarding. Just double checked my backpack if my passport is still in there. Also, I thought I forgot my new earbuds, but luckily they are there in my backpack. Excitement level is high, but the anxiety is higher!

Last night I spent planning the last bits and pieces, booking trains, busses and ferries. The last and most difficult part was to plan the islands. I misread the map and didn’t realise that Kho Samui is quite far from Phuket. It takes around 10 hours by land and then a ferry and no option of flying as all tickets from Phuket to Samui were already sold out a month in advance, unless you want to fly through Singapore for 7-8 hours and pay £200 – £300. So I’ve decided to go to another island, a serene island called Kho Lipe, which boasts with white sand beaches.
I will try to keep updated throughout my backpacking travel. I am carrying the same big backpack that I bought in Sweden in 2003 and travelled through China in 2009 by the way!
I arrived early to the airport, but I was able to check-in my bag a bit earlier than 3 hours before. Passed security and I was heading to the Plaza Premium lounge. Luckily they had space. I had a very nice breakfast with coffee and a glass of wine and time just flew by so quickly. I saw the message on the screen to go to the gate.

I was walking the gate B 10 in Terminal 2. It was quite a long walk under the airport to the other side terminals. However, I still arrived too early.
The boarding was very smooth and the airplane looked very clean and comfortable. I found my seat by the window. All flight attendants were very friendly and dressed in their very Thai looking uniforms wearing a big smile on their face. So far I love flying Thai Airlines!
11 hour flight was ahead of me, but the media entertainment had few movies I wanted to see, so it wasn’t going to take too long.
