After leaving Meteora and driving a long way in a very hot weather, we finally reached our next destination in Greece trip – Sivota.

Our hotel in Sivotao
Our hotel Aqua Olive Resort Syvota was near the beach and it was very nice I must say! It was a bit difficult to find it though. We had to take a narrow strip road almost through the beach to get there and surprisingly nobody from local staff working in a bar there knew where it was, though it was 300m away, so I had to call the reception and ask for the directions, but the problem was that there were no reception at all! We’ve got a free of charge upgrade to a suite with a garden view when we checked in. It was teeming with different animals and bugs around everywhere. First, it was a bit infested with huge crickets, they were even in breakfast room! Cicadas were making noise everywhere and you could see some dead ones on the road, but those are not very surprising as they are everywhere. Anyway, they had an amazing infinity like pool and a huge terrace in the room, so that kind of compensated all those bug issues.

Vrachonas old settlement
Vrachonas is an ancient settlement located near the town of Sivota in Lefkada. This small village dates back to the 4th century BC and still retains its traditional character. The village is situated on a slope at a 650-meter altitude, with a view of the Ionian Sea below. Its traditional stone houses, churches, and winding lanes make Vrachonas an interesting destination for those seeking a peaceful getaway. Visitors can enjoy picturesque landscapes, as well as the friendly locals. The nearby beaches offer swimming and fishing opportunities, and the trails leading around the area are perfect for hiking or biking.
Unfortunately we didn’t make to it a the road have ended. Provably the only option is to hike there, which we didn’t due to super high temperatures.
Acropolis of Polyneri
Acropolis of Polyneri is a small seaside town in Thesprotia, near Sivota. It is believed to have been constructed in the 4th century BCE by the Pyrrhonians, a tribe of ancient Greeks that inhabited the area. The remains of the acropolis stand at an elevation of 174 meters (572 feet). The acropolis is composed of seven bastions and towers, along with a gatehouse. Within the walls, there was a temple, an agora and several other important buildings, including an aqueduct. Over time, the acropolis was expanded by different Greek rulers, with most of its fortifications being built during the Byzantine period. The acropolis was destroyed in 1285 when the Normans invaded Sivota. Its ruins were rediscovered in the 19th century and have since been studied and researched by historians and archaeologists as they piece together its long and interesting history. Today, the Acropolis of Polyneri stands as an important reminder of the city’s long history and its place in the ancient Greek world. It is a popular tourist attraction and draws people from far and wide to marvel at its incredible ancient ruins.
We didn’t reach it, same as Vrachonas settlement.
